Second Incident Involving Barricaded Suspect In Maryland Resolved Safely, Police Say

Police in Maryland gave the “all-clear” after a brief standoff with a barricaded suspect who refused to leave a Montgomery County building on Monday afternoon.

Members of the Montgomery County Department of Police responded at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 to the 14200 block of Grand Pre Road in Silver Spring to investigate an incident involving a barricaded subject, according to a spokesperson for the agency.

The incident was contained to one building, however, there was a heavy police presence in the area.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, officials said that the incident was safely resolved, and there was no continued threat to the community.

No additional details were provided by investigators.

The incident was the second of its kind on Monday after there was an hours-long standoff in Baltimore that led to the closure of two schools while police negotiated with a man who barricaded himself inside a home.

That barricade situation was also safely resolved.
